UV DTF artwork checklist
- File type
- PNG is best. PDF, SVG and AI also work.No Word, PowerPoint or screenshots.
- Background
- Transparent areas stay clear. A white or coloured background prints and transfers as part of the sticker.
- Resolution
- 300 DPI at the size you want it printed.Logos saved from a website or WhatsApp are usually too small and print blurry.
- Size
- Make your canvas the size you are ordering (table below) and place each design at its real print size.
- Colour
- CMYK preferred. RGB is fine, with possible small colour shifts. Printed colours can differ slightly from your screen.
- Text
- Convert fonts to outlines. Check spelling: we print exactly what you send.
- Effects
- Avoid soft shadows, glows, fades and see-through areas. They do not transfer cleanly.
- Fine lines
- Very thin lines and tiny text may lift when you peel the film. If in doubt, ask us to check.
- Spacing
- Leave space around each design so you can cut it out with a small margin.
Canvas sizes at 300 DPI
Set up your file at exactly the size you are ordering, so every design prints at the size you placed it.
| You are ordering | Canvas in mm | Canvas in pixels |
|---|---|---|
| A4 sheet | 210 × 297 mm | 2480 × 3508 px |
| 300 mm roll, per metre | 300 × 1000 mm | 3543 × 11811 px |
Common problems, and how we fix them

UV DTF is printed with inks that are hardened instantly by ultraviolet light. We print colour, white and a clear gloss layer, then seal the print between a backing sheet and a clear transfer film.
It works like a sticker, but only your design transfers. Peel off the backing, stick it down, rub it firmly and peel the clear film away. There is no clear box or edge, so it looks printed directly onto the item.
The finish is slightly raised and glossy, waterproof and scratch resistant. No heat or special equipment is needed.
Works great on
- Mugs, tumblers and water bottles
- Glass, jars and candle holders
- Phone cases, laptops and tablets
- Notebooks and hard-cover packaging
- Metal, acrylic, hard plastic and sealed wood
Not suited to
- Clothing and fabric (use DTF)
- Rough, porous or dusty surfaces like raw wood or brick
- Soft, bendy or stretchy items
- Items that get scrubbed hard or go through a dishwasher often
How to apply
- Clean the surface with alcohol or a spirit wipe and let it dry.
- Cut out the design, leaving a small margin around it.
- Peel off the backing paper and position the sticker, glue-side down.
- Rub firmly over the whole design, especially the edges.
- Slowly peel the clear film back at a low angle.
- Leave it for 24 hours before washing or heavy use.
Care
- Wash by hand with a soft sponge.
- Avoid the dishwasher for the longest life.
- Do not soak for long or use abrasive cleaners.
- Fine outdoors on a well-prepared surface.
Can UV DTF go in the dishwasher?
UV DTF is waterproof, but hot dishwasher cycles and strong detergents shorten its life. Wash by hand for the best result.
My logo is blurry or has a white background. Can you fix it?
Yes. Every file gets a free check. A Quick fix (R75 per file) removes a white background, resizes to print size, removes shadows and fades and thickens fine lines. A Redraw (R250 per design) rebuilds a low-res or blurry logo as a clean vector and retypes the text.
Can I get my order faster?
Yes. Choose Rush in step 4 and your order is ready the next working day after you approve your artwork, for R150 per order.
Can I put lots of designs on one sheet?
Yes. Fill an A4 sheet or a metre of roll with one design or as many different designs as fit. It is the cheapest way to print lots of small stickers.
Do you cut out the stickers?
No. We print, we do not cut. You get the printed sheet or roll and cut your stickers out yourself, leaving a small margin.
